Floor Heating

RENOTEC.

Renotec adds hydronic floor heating to an existing home with barely any change in floor height.

Renovating on an existing slab? Here’s how to add heating without losing floor height.

The problem

Most underfloor heating systems need real depth to work — a fresh slab pour, or a thick topping screed. On an existing slab-on-ground home, that depth is rarely on the table without ripping up the whole floor.

The Renotec solution

A thin pipe positioning board and pipe are laid directly over your existing floor, then a self-levelling compound is poured over the top. Your chosen flooring finishes it off, with the heating completely out of sight and full hydronic performance underfoot.

Three steps. No slab to break.

Because Renotec sits on top of the existing floor rather than inside it, there’s no demolition and no wet trades beyond a self-levelling pour — most homes are ready for flooring within days.

Cross-section — positioning sheet and pipe laid over the existing slab

01

Prep & prime the slab

The existing slab is cleaned and repaired where needed, then primed for adhesion.

02

Sheet & pipe laid over the top

The Renotec positioning sheet and pipe go down directly over the prepared slab, connected to the manifold and pressure-tested for leaks.

03

Self-levelling compound & flooring

A self-levelling compound is poured over the system, then your chosen flooring finishes it off.

Key Benefits

01

Minimal total floor level increase.

02

Purpose-built for major renovations on existing slabs.

03

Full hydronic performance — not a compromise system.

Renotec vs. Screed Heating.

Renotec

Best For

Existing slab-on-ground renovations where floor height is tight.

Floor Build-Up

Minimal — a thin positioning sheet and self-levelling compound over the existing slab.

Heat-Up Time

Comparable to radiator panels — faster than a full in-slab system.

Screed Heating

Best For

New builds or renovations with more floor build-up to spare.

Floor Build-Up

A topping screed poured over the existing or new slab.

Heat-Up Time

Faster than slab — exact figure confirmed with your quote.

Renotec uses a thin pipe positioning sheet laid directly over your existing slab, topped with a self-levelling compound before your flooring goes down — engineered to add as little height as possible. We confirm the exact build-up for your project once we’ve assessed the existing floor and your chosen flooring.

Renotec delivers full hydronic performance — it’s not a compromise system — but because it doesn’t require breaking into the existing slab, it also heats up faster: closer to a radiator panel than a full in-slab pour.
